Tabitha Rose
Founder & Publisher, Life to Paper Publishing
Tabitha Rose is the founder and publisher of Life to Paper Publishing and its nonprofit arm, the Life to Paper Foundation. For more than a decade she has helped people turn lived experience into books, especially stories of mental health, addiction, trauma, abuse, complex family dynamics, and health and wellness. As she puts it, “Tough stuff is our jam.”
A graduate of Western University, Tabitha began her career in politics and business. Life to Paper started in 2015 with a ghostwriting project: her grandmother’s life story. What began as writing memoirs for elders grew, with a mentor’s push and one author’s brave manuscript, into a publishing house. Its first book, Lost Boy Found by Dr. Peter Gregg, was published in 2019.
In 2020 she launched the Life to Paper Foundation in Canada and the United States, bringing therapeutic life story writing workshops to mental health and addiction treatment centers. In 2021 she opened The Bookshop in Buena Vista, Miami, and created the Life to Paper Book Festival, held each November from 2021 to 2023.
Her connection to the work is personal. Tabitha speaks openly about her own recovery from mental health and addiction struggles, and that experience shapes the safe, hands-on way she guides authors through writing, editing, and publishing stories they once believed they could never share. She is not a therapist, but she has seen what happens when someone is finally given room to tell their truth: “Putting life to paper is therapeutic. I’ve seen people heal from the process.”
Tabitha speaks on addiction recovery, building a dream business, and how to tell a brave, honest, inspiring story. She is a contributor to the anthology When We Forgive, and her work has been featured in Voyage MIA and Coral Gables Community News. Life to Paper’s mission is simple: to write a better future.
