Alex Auerbach, PhD
Performance Psychologist, Author, Speaker
Dr. Alex Auerbach is a licensed counseling and sport psychologist, certified mental performance consultant, and board-certified coach who works with some of the world’s top performers: Olympians and athletes in the NBA, NFL and MLB, as well as elite military units, Fortune 500 companies, and venture-backed start-ups.
He was formerly Senior Director of Wellness and Development for the Toronto Raptors, responsible for mental health, mental performance, and off-court development for players and staff. He has also worked with the Kansas City Chiefs, served as Director of Clinical and Sports Psychology at the University of Arizona, and worked with NCAA Division I programs in the SEC, Pac-12, ACC, Big 12, and Conference USA. Before psychology, he began his career as a college football coach.
Dr. Auerbach earned his doctorate in counseling psychology, with a specialization in sport and performance psychology, from the University of North Texas. He holds an MBA from Salve Regina University and a BBA from the University of Arizona. He is a member of the United States Olympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry, and of APA Divisions 47 (Exercise and Sport Psychology) and 17 (Counseling Psychology).
